Founded in 1996, the Day of Silence has become the largest single student-led action towards creating safer schools for all, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. From the first-ever Day of Silence at the University of Virginia in 1996, to the organizing efforts in over 8,000 middle schools, high schools, colleges and universities across the country in 2008, its textured history reflects its diversity in both numbers and reach.

Can you help? Flint’s Gay Pride Festival is coming up this summer, and it needs you! If you can donate anything in kind, or your time in order to make this event a success contact Wellness Services, 311 East Court St., Flint, Mi. 810 232 0888

For the past two years, this event has drawn over 1,000 people to downtown Flint during the festival. This year’s event will have a kids’ corner, food, live entertainment, and much more! 

If you would like to be on the planning committee, meetings are Fridays at 6, starting April 11, at Wellness Services.
